BACKGROUND and INTRODUCTION
The Tigray Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (TCCSA), is an autonomous, private sector institution and membership based is non-profit oriented and national development targeted organization.  It was established in 2006, and is an independent, non-political organization dedicated to protect and develop the interest of the business community. Members of the Chamber are City Chambers, Sectoral Associations, and other business organization working in Tigray Region.

The Chamber movement addresses all the economic, social and political issues affecting the business community in one way or another. It is the “independent representative and voice of business of Tigray State” and it ensures that this voice is heard where it matters – where it is necessary to protect the interests of business, at local, regional and national levels.

As the largest business organization in Tigray Regional State, the Chamber represents business interests through on-going interaction with the regional and metropolitan governments, aimed at creating an economic environment conducive to growth and prosperity. Our aim is to provide a comprehensive range of added value business support and development services to assist the growth of businesses.

The TCCSA works in close collaboration with the government, stakeholders and business development organizations nationally and internationally. It is founding member of the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (ECCSA).

 

VISION OF TCCSA

  • To be a competitive and quality business service provision center in East Africa, and to be the Center of Excellence in the development of the private sector, through creating innovative and competitiveness which can develop trade and investment and effectively compete at national, and  global business ventures.

 

OBJECTIVES OF TCCSA
The Primary objective of the Chamber is to promote, support or oppose legislative or other measures affecting trade, industry, commerce, business and investment; as well as represent the opinion of the business community on these matters in particular and the economy as a whole.

Our objective is to promote, protect and develop commercial, industrial and investment interests of members in particular and those of the entire business community in general. The Chamber aim at influencing development policies, strategies and support measures so as to achieve the best economic climate for these varied interests of the business community. The Chamber movement addresses all the economic, social and other issues affecting the business community in one way or another.

TCCSA strives to:

  1. Ensure adequate protection of the interests of business;
  2. Formulate the policy and view-point of business on key issues that affect businesses;
  3. Influence constructively the environment in which business operates;
  4. Assist and support the city Chambers and Sectoral Associations of its members to grow their businesses and fulfill a leading role in their communities;
  5. Promote the private enterprise system and market-oriented approach with equal opportunities for all;
  6. Be the voice of business in Tigray Region.

 

MISSION STATEMENT OF TCCSA
The mission of the Tigray Chamber of Commerce and Sectorial Associations is:

  1. To effectively play a central and catalytic role in facilitating the growth of the city vis-à-vis the regional economy through entrepreneurial development, in an enabling and conducive environment for business, geared to result in creation of wealth and employment;
  2. To strengthen Tigray Region’s economy across the Woreda level;
  3. Providing members with meaningful business intelligence, opportunities for growth, and links with local and international partners, suppliers, and markets;
  4. To promote a more flexible and hospitable condition for Small and Medium businesses;
  5. To improve the overall physical condition of the Regional State of Tigray.
